Welcome

Diane Giancola

Hello, my name is Diane Giancola, and I’ve been working as an early childhood educator for more than fourteen years.

My fascination with early childhood education was kindled when I enrolled my son in a parent participation preschool, and volunteered in his classes until sixth grade. I was eager to learn about what kinds of strategies could support each child’s unique learning style.

My answer was to return to college and study early childhood education, which led to serving as an early childhood education specialist at a local school.

Since I began my studies in early childhood education in 1995, I’ve cared for infants as young as two weeks old, four- and five-year-olds, and children in third grade. The discoveries they make and new skills they master day-by-day inspire and challenge me to be the most effective teacher I can be.

I graduated with an A.S. in Early Childhood Education, and earned my B.A. summa cum laude in Child Development. During my pursuit of my B.A., I was (and still am) working full-time teaching preschool and was able to put my education to use in the classroom immediately.

I view myself as a lifelong learner, and I try to pass this enthusiasm for learning onto my students.

On my website, I hope to share some of the creative projects done by the children in my pre-kindergarten class, and to share my philosophy of teaching.
