focusing, self expression, and self esteem.

Playdough is made in the classroom. There are several recipes, some of which require cooking. The children have the opportunity to gain experience in sequencing, math and literacy as we follow the recipe to completion.
After the playdough is made, it is kept on a shelf in a basket with rolling pins, cookie cutters, and a variety of other playdough tools that are easily accessible to the children. Whoever takes out the playdough basket creates a playdough table for a small group of children.

The children gain skill in listening and focusing, fine motor, social and language development as they interact with other children and adults, participation in classroom routines, plans and self-expression.
